Birthday Card with Stampin' Up

Aloha!

Here is a simple masculine Birthday card using another tree from "Lovely As A Tree" by Stampin' Up.

Using my Misti and a couple of Tombow markers, I stamped the tree on some Hero Arts Antique Ivory cardstock.  Then I added a bit more color and shading using a couple of Polychromos pencils.  I tried to add a bit more interest by putting in some score lines around the edges.  The sentiment is by Reverse Confetti.  Then I assembled everything on an A2 card base.

Thank You Card with My Favorite Things - MFT Sketch Challenge

We had some friends come by and feed our critters while we were away.  It was the perfect opportunity to make them card with some new MFT goodies and enter the latest Sketch Challenge #441.

Here are the steps I used to create the card:

  • Die cut a couple of squares using the In & Out Stitched Squares by My Favorite Things
  • Use Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide and the Radiating Rays stencil by MFT on the larger square
  • Use Use Tumbled Glass, Cracked Pistachio and Lucky Clover Distress Oxide on the smaller square to create the scene
  • Stamp the images from "Purrfect Friends" by My Favorite Things using Hero Arts Intense Black on Gina K Artist Choice cardstock and die cut with matching dies
  • Color using Copics.  Cats: W8, W6, W4, C5, C3, C1, R20, 0.  Butterflies: RV17, YR68.  Cloud C3, C0.  Grass G46
  • Glue everthing on a white card base
  • Add details to the cats using black and white gelly roll pens
  • Stamp the sentiment from "Cool Cat" by My Favorite Things in black ink

Father's Day Card with Hero Arts

I started creating this card by first doing some watercolor backgrounds using some handmade watercolors from Aloha Studios that are based here on the Big Island of Hawaii.

It's hard to capture in the photos, but this watercolor has a subtle shimmer to it that is absolutely gorgeous!

Once the background was dry, I die cut it with a Hero Arts Nesting Rectangle.  Then I stamped the deer and tree from the "Color Layering Snowy Tree" stamp set by Hero arts.  I created the ground using my black Copic and the stars using a white gelly roll pen.  I didn't want to cover up any of the scene so I stamped the greeting on the inside.

Father's Day Galaxy Card

I racked my brain trying to come up with a good masculine father's day idea for my step-dad and finally decided on getting out the alcohol inks and trying a technique I saw on YouTube.

After many failed attempts with trying to use foil to add some dimension, I finally got one that I was happy with and just decided to use some white paint to add stars.

Check out Ashlea_Crafts to see the alcohol ink process that I used.

Birthday Card with Stampin' Up

Aloha!

Here is a recent masculine birthday card I finished using "Lovely As A Tree" by Stampin' Up.

For this card I did the following:

  • Cut a a piece of Windsor & Newton Bristol paper using an My Favorite Things stitched rectangle
  • Masked off a corner and then blended on Tumbled Glass and Mowed Lawn Distress Inks with a Life Changing Blending Brush
  • Stamped the tree and sentiment using Versafine Olympia Green ink. The sentiment is from "Fresh Freesia" by Altenew.
  • Matted this to a piece of Ocean Tides cardstock by Papertrey Ink also cut with a My Favorite Things stitched rectangle

Birthday Card with Newton's Nook

Aloha friends and thanks for visiting!

Today I am sharing a CAS (Clean And Simple) birthday card that I made using "Holding Happiness" by Newton's Nook.

Here are the steps I used to create this card:

  • Stamped the girl with the balloons on Catherine Pooler Smooth White Cardstock with Gina K Amalgam Ink.
  • Die cut using the corresponding die.
  • Colored with Copic markers
  • Added details with a white gel pen and some Wink of Stella
  • Adhered her to the card base with Lawn Fawn glue
  • Stamped the sentiment from the same set using Versafine

It was a little difficult leaving so much white space, but I love the end result!

Here are the Copic colors I used:

I am entering this card into a couple of fun challenges:
