Just Because Hello with The Ton - 2017

This was one of those cards that just came together perfectly and I love how it turned out!

I stamped the sunflower from The Ton's "Fresh Cut Sunflowers Coordinating Outlines" with VersaMark and then heat embossed with Gold embossing powder by Ranger.  I colored it with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and then fussy cut it.  Next I stamped the layering leaves and stem from the "Fresh Cut Sunflowers" set and die cut the panel with a stitched rectangle.  The sentiment is from My Favorite Things "Polynesian Paradise" and was stamped and heat embossed the same as the sunflower.

Birthday Card with My Favorite Things - 2017

I had a lot of fun creating this card for my sister's birthday!

I stamped and colored the dragon from "Magical Dragons" by MFT then did partial die cutting to leave the bottom portion where I stamped the sentiment from "Rainbow of Happiness" by MFT.  For the background, I used a few images from "Bring on the Cake" by Sugar Pea Designs that were heat embossed using Sparkle embossing powder by Hero Arts and then ink blended a "galaxy" with Distress Inks.

Sympathy Card with My Favorite Things - 2017

This was a card that I made for a friend who lost her sister to cancer.

I used "Peaceful Wildflowers" by My Favorite Things stamped in VersaFine on a ink smooshed background that I made with a few Tombow Dual Brush Pens and water.  The sentiment is from the set "Sharon's Script" by Brutus Monroe.

Sympathy Card with Altenew - 2017

This was created using the "Fresh Freesia" by Altenew.  I white heat embossed it, then colored it with my Tombow Dual Brush Pens.  I used the matching die and them glued it to a background that I watercolored with Distress Ink that I cut using one of the In & Out Stitched Rectangles from MFT.

The sentiment is a blend of "Hello World" from Catherine Pooler Designs and "Brushwork Alphabet" from Stampin' Up.  I added a few sequins from Pretty Pink Posh to finish it off.

Sympathy Card with Avery Elle - 2017

I used the Avery Elle "Floral Bouquet" to create this sympathy card.

This is a one layer card where I embossed the image in white embossing powder and the colored it up with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers.  One complete it felt like it needed a little something extra.  So I used a small butterfly from Newton's Nook "Beautiful Wings and popped it on the card with a foam dot.

Birthday Sailboat with Stampin' Up - 2017

I created this card using the "Sail Away" stamp by Stampin' Up.  I stamped the image twice on cardstock.  With the first image, I darkened the boat to make it look more like a silhouette.  Then I blended on the background using Distress Ink.

Using the 2nd image that I stamped, I cut out the sails and then used foam dots to pop them up on my card panel.

Father's Day with Inkadinkado - 2017

For this card, I used "Winter Wildlife" by Inkadinkado.

I stamped the elk on watercolor paper then covered him with Glossy Accents by Ranger.  I used Distress Ink to do a watercolor sunrise.  Once dry, I peeled away the masking fluid and stamped the sentiment from Lawn Fawn's "Dad + Me".

Father's Day with Altenew - 2017

For this Father's Day card I black heat embossed the sentiment from Altenew's "Best Dad" set on a piece of brushed silver cardstock that I die cut with the Sentiment Label Strip by MFT.

I stacked this on top of a strip of silver cardstock that I embossed with a Darice Diamond Plate embossing folder and then a strip of patterned paper that looked like wood slats.  I glued this to a blue card base and added a couple of embellishments that look like screw heads to complete the card.

Father's Day with Lawn Fawn - 2017

This was a fun little card I put together for my Grandpa for Father's Day!

I used "Dad + Me" by Lawn Fawn.  This time I stamped the bears on kraft cardstock.  Then I water colored a background with Distress Ink and cut it with a stitched rectangle.  I stamped the reeds and the dragonflies directly on the background.  Then I stamped and die cut the pond after adding some fish and Wink of Stella and added it to the background.

Best Fishes Birthday with Lawn Fawn - 2017

This was a very fun birthday card I made for my Grandpa using "Fintastic Friends" by Lawn Fawn.

I stamped and clear heat embossed each element and colored them with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens.  Some of them had hats from "Party Animal" added.  Then each was cut out and adhered to a Distress Ink blended background.  The sentiment was white heat embossed on black cardstock using a combination of Lawn Fawn and Avery Elle "Simply Said: Amazing".

This was a fun card I made using the Hero Arts "Color Layering Hibiscus" and Lawn Fawn's "Quinn's Capital ABC's" die.

Chicken Thank you with Taylored Expressions - 2017

My neighbor brings my chickens treats that they love so made her this thank you card.  Aren't those hens from Taylored Expressions so cute!

The stamp set is "Happy Hens" that I stamped and then colored with colored pencils.  They are popped up and put on a stitched circle from Stamps of Life with some patterned paper by Gina K Designs.

Hello with Unity Stamp Company - 2017

Here is a happy hello card using the "Hello - Daisy" stamp by Unity Stamp Co.

I stamped the daisy repeatedly on the background with some light grey ink then stamped it again on a another piece of cardstock in black and colored with colored pencils.

New Home Card with Winnie & Walter and Memory Box - 2017

My cousin and his fiance bought their first house so this card was made to celebrate.

I used the Large Circle Burst from Memory Box to create a window.  The sentiment is My Favorite Things (MFT) from their "No Place Like Home" set (this was the first time I tried heat embossing!).

The inside was created by stamping the house from Winnie & Walter "Our Town" and then blending some inks using masks for the house and the clouds.

Encouragement Card with Avery Elle - 2017

I love Ellie from Avery Elle!

Here is Ellie stamped with her balloons and colored with colored pencils.

Welcome Baby Cross Stitch Card - 2017

Another friend was having a baby this year and I believe designing this card is what started my new obsession with card making.  I stumbled across another cross stitched card on Pinterest and said "I can do that".

This card took quite a bit of planning.  The cross stitch design was actually two designs that I combined into one.  Once I finished the stitching, I couldn't decided how to actually finish the card using the supplies I currently had.  This was born (pun intended) after playing around with some stitched frame dies that I had from Frantic Stamper.

The sentiment is Hero Arts "Little One"
Cross stitch pattern from Little Beach Hut

Valentine's Day with Lawn Fawn - 2017

This card was so much fun to make!
It was a Valentine's Day card for my husband.  We are always joking about the Narwhals song and trying to get the other to have an ear worm.  This card was my first try with mirror stamping.  I took many tries before I was happy.

Birthday Card with Avery Elle and Gina Marie Designs - 2017

At this point, I'm starting to slowly build up my stash of supplies and just had to have this set by Avery Elle called "Be A Unicorn".

This was a birthday card that I made for my mom.

I stamped and colored the unicorn and the rainbow with colored pencils.
The "clouds" are Stitched Hearts from Gina Marie Designs.

New Baby Card with Hero Arts and Taylored Expressions - 2017

I made a card for friends that were expecting.

I could have sworn they said they were having a girl, but then they had a boy and I quickly made a new card.

The sentiment is from Hero Arts "Little One".  The patterned paper and cloud die is from Echo Park.  The small hearts and stars die cuts and stamped dotted lines are from Taylored Expressions "Hello Baby".

My First Card - Christmas 2016

This was the first card I made in 2016.  I cross stitched a pattern that I found on Pinterest and glued it to a blank white note card.  It was pretty plain, but perfect for giving to my Dad.  Soon after I had more cards in the works, which I'll share in the following posts.

Mother's Day with Mama Elephant

Here is a simple Mother's Day card using the Mama Elephant "Wild Meadow" stamp set. I stamped the flowers on Neenah Desert Storm cardstock with Versafine.  Then colored them with Faber Castell Polychromos colored pencils.  The sentiment I stamped with Versafine using Concord & 9th's "Perfectly Penned".

Once all the stamping was done, I die cut each piece.  Then glued a sheet of acetate to the top flower portion to create a window.

Mother's Day Flowers with Pretty Pink Posh

Aloha Friends and thanks for visiting!

For this card, I wanted to try to recreate Rena K's Pop Up Flower Card that she demonstrated in this video. It turned out really well, and I was quite happy!

Here is the front of the card:

And the inside:

Here are the steps I used to create the card:

  • Took some 4" x 4" printer paper and covered each with Distress Oxides in abandoned coral, wilted violet, shaded lilac, worn lipstick, fossilized amber and tattered rose using a Life Changing Blending Brush
  • Using the steps that Rena K shows in the video, I adhered the bouquet to the inside of a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" card base of MFT Cement Gray cardstock
  • Cut a heart with Hero Arts Nesting Hearts Infinity die and stamp a sentiment from Whimsy Stamps "Mother Love" in Versafine ink
  • Stamp the hummingbirds by Pretty Pink Posh "Hummingbird Thanks" on Catherine Pooler Smooth White cardstock with Gina K Jet Black Amalgam Ink and colored with Copics.  Here are the colors I used:
    • Wings - BV000, BV02, BV04
    • Body - BG11, BG15, BG07
    • Head - B000, B02, B05
  •  Added details to the hummingbirds using a white gel pen and Nuvo drops for eyes then fussy cut them
  • Then I cleaned up the edges using an EK Tool black pen and adhered them to the card using Lawn Fawn glue
I know my mom will love it!
