Birthday Card with Concord & 9th

While I had the "Hello Lovely" from Concord & 9th stamp set out, I also decided to go a completely different direction for another birthday card.

Here I kept it simple and just heat embossed the image on black cardstock using Hero Art's Purple Sparkle embossing powder.

The sentiment is from Queen & Company and I heat embossed that using some silver embossing powder.  I finished it off with a bit of Wink of Stella on the main flower and called it good.  The picture doesn't show it well, but the purple sparkle embossing powder is quite sparkly!

Anniversary Card Cross Stitch Card

This is my first card cross stitched on paper!  I used the Cross Stitch Rectangle die from My Favorite Things along with DMC Pearl Floss and a pattern that I found on Pinterest.

The You & Me die cut from Echo Park was perfect!  I cut it from some gold cardstock which I also used behind the panel.  I stamped the Happy and Day using matching gold ink. All in all I was very happy with how this card turned out.

Birthday Card with Concord & 9th

Hello friends!

Today I am sharing a birthday card that I made for my best friend.

I stamped the large flower bunch from Concord & 9th's "Hello Lovely" stamp set and heat embossed it with Ranger's Rose Gold embossing powder.  Then I colored away with my Polychromos colored pencils.  I added a few sequins and some Wink of Stella and finished it off with a sentiment from Stampin' Up's Wetland's set.

Thanks for stopping by!

Thank You Card with Hero Arts

My sister gave me a card kit from The Paper Crate for my birthday and once it arrived, I had to make her a card using the supplies.

I used the inks that came with the kit and did some blending to create the background.  I stamped the mouse from the December 2018 Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Kit separately and then colored it with my Copics.  The sentiment is from "Simply Said: Amazing" by Avery Elle.

Thank You Card with Hero Arts and Neat & Tangled

I don't feel like this was my best work, but still worth sharing.

I got some new Finetec watercolors that I had asked for for Christmas and I wanted to try them out.

I die cut a couple of pieces of navy and white cardstock with the Fancy Square from Studio Katia.  Then I stamped and heat embossed the jellyfish from the July 2016 Hero Arts My Monthly Hero kit and the sentiment from "All My Heart" by Neat & Tangled.  I put on some colors using as little water as possible since I wasn't using watercolor paper and tada!

Birthday Card with Concord & 9th and Honey Bee Stamps

Here is a colorful birthday card I made using the "Birthday Basics Turnabout" stamp by Concord & 9th along with a cupcake from "Piece of Cake" by Honey Bee Stamps.

After stamping the turnabout stamp with multiple inks from Catherine Pooler, I cut it down using a Stitched Hillside Border from Lawn Fawn.  I adhered that to my card base and then stamped the sentiment. The cupcake was Copic colored then fussy cut and adhered with foam tape.

Just Because Card with The Greeting Farm

I saw this shirt at the Maui Ocean Center and just had to buy for a girlfriend who is a big fan of Pink Floyd.

I decided that I should also make a card to send to her along with the shirt.  I was inspired by a card that Kristina Werner made using small images and the Circular Grid die by Mama Elephant.  I had recently purchased the "Mermaid Kisses" stamp set from The Greeting Farm and they were begging to be colored.

I stamped each image then colored them with Copics.  I also added some shimmer with Wink of Stella and gel pen details.  I heat embossed the sentiment in white on black card stock and popped it up with foam tape and darn if I didn't put it on crooked.

Here is a shot of all of the colors I used:

Thank You Card with Lawn Fawn

To show my appreciation to my grandparents for letting me stay in their guest room while I was visiting California, I made them this CAS card using the "Winter Village" stamp set from Lawn Fawn.

I stamped the images then colored them with Copics and die cut them.  I blended on some Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide to my card base and then adhere my images with liquid glue.  To finish it off, I added a bit of Stickles in Diamond to the trees and the roof lines for some sparkle.

Pivot Pop-Up Birthday Card with MFT - 2018

My first Pivot Pop-Up Card!

I had to use these cutie "Bitty Bears" from MFT!  And the Pivot Pop-Up is a die set from Lawn Fawn.

I paired the bears with some images from an older Hero Arts My Monthly Hero kit, all colored with Copics.  The inside also has a sentiment from "Birthday Wishes" by Mama Elephant and the "Sprinkles Turnabout" by Concord & 9th.

I should have used heavier cardstock since you can the inside clearly from the outside. Oh well, she still loved it!  And the right side is blank so that I could add in a gift card.

Box Birthday Card with Lawn Fawn & Avery Elle - 2018

A fun card to celebrate a girlfriend's 40th!

I again used the Lawn Fawn Scalloped Box Card Pop-Up to create this card.

Other products used were: "Party Balloons" by Lawn Fawn; "Numbered Balloons" by Avery Elle; "Happy Birthday" by Simon Says Stamp; stamps and dies from "Happy Happy Happy" by Lawn Fawn; and some various images from older Hero Arts My Monthly Hero kits.

The one side flap is blank because I stuck a gift card there.

Thank You Card with Newton's Nook - 2018

I needed a thank you card for my boss so I pulled out my my brand new Altenew watercolors to give them a whirl.

First I die cut a panel of watercolor paper with a Kat Scrappiness Wonky Wavy Stitched Rectangle,  Then I stamped and heat embossed the palm tree from Newton's Nook "Paradise Palms" and the Mahalo sentiment from MFT's "Polynesian Paradise".  I did a wet on wet technique to add some background color then let it dry overnight.

Box Birthday Card with Mama Elephant - 2018

My first Box Card!

I used the Scalloped Box Card Pop-Up die set from Lawn Fawn along with images from Mama Elephant's "Dragon Wishes" (that I colored with Copics) and fireworks from the July 2018 Hero Arts My Monthly Hero kit.  The sentiment on the back panel is "Make A Wish" by Mama Elephant.

I love these dragons!

Shaker Birthday Card with Hero Arts - 2018

It is so fun making these shaker cards!

Here I used the chili pepper and a sentiment from the April 2018 Hero Arts My Monthly Hero kit.  I stamped the chili peppers repeatedly on my background (some are even mirror stamped for more fun), then I colored them with Copics.

I cut my frame using Taylored Expressions Stitched Frame Stacklets.

The sentiment was heat embossed in white on black cardstock them cut into a flag and adhered to the acetate window.

Birthday Card with Altenew and Inkadinkado - 2018

My dad's birthday is in October so it seemed fitting to make him a fun Halloween inspired card.

Stamps used: "Halloween Trails" by Inkadinkado; "To The Moon" by Altenew; "Lovely as a Tree" by Stampin' Up; "Boo Stamp & Cut" by Hero Arts

First I stamped the moon layers then masked it and blended on Distress Oxides.  With the mask still in place, I splattered a bit of water and Picket Fence white paint on, but I think I went a little overboard.  My husband said my "stars" looked like snow.  Once the background was done, I die cut it with a Distress Edge Rectangle by Kat Scrappiness.  Then stamped and heat embossed the images and the sentiment.

Birthday Card with MFT - 2018

I wanted to make a card for my husband and this stamp set from MFT was perfect!

First I cut my cardstock using the Wonky Stitched Die from Kat Scrappiness.  Then I stamped the candles and sentiment from "Make A Wish" with Versamark and embossed them using Nuvo White Embossing Powder.  I blended on the Distress Inks and then sprinkled on a bit of water for interest.

Birthday Card with Lawn Fawn - 2018

I decided to try out my Wreath Builder from Gina K and made this fun card!

The narwhals, party hats and presents are from Lawn Fawn's "Mermaid for You" and "Party Animal".  The numbers are "Candle Numbers" from Jaded Blossom.  I added pompoms to the party hats that I got from Queen and Company.  Finally I added a few details with a white gel pen and Nuvo Drops.

Birthday Card with The Ton - 2018

This card was created with the "Wave" layering stamp set by The Ton and inks by Altenew.

The sentiment is from the "With Love" stamp set by Reverse Confetti along with some Nuvo Drops in Black to give it a little character.

A Trio of Father's Day Cards with Alcohol Inks and Honey Bee Stamps - 2018

I got inky with my alcohol inks and played with colors until I had a few backgrounds that I liked.

Then I cut the top layer of the "Happy" die by Honey Bee Stamps out of gold cardstock and the second layer from velum.

The "Father's Day" is from Lawn Fawn's "Happy Happy Happy" stamp set heat embossed in white on black cardstock.

Birthday Card with Sunny Studio

This card was created with the fun layering "Bold Balloons" from Sunny Studio.

It look me quite a few tries before I was happy with how they turned out and I'm afraid I don't remember what inks I used.  The background was created with some colored ink, then Versamark applied through the Ocean Waves stencil by Gina Marie Designs.  Then heat embossed with some Hero Arts Sparkle powder.

Graduation Cards with MFT - 2018

I made a couple of cards for my nieces that were graduating from high school.  I didn't have a single graduation related stamp in my stash, so I improvised with the "Bundle of Balloons" by MFT.

I cut the balloons out of Simon Says Stamp glitter paper and white.  The background was created with some blue ink and my MFT cloud stencil.

For the inside of the card, I used the We R Memory Keepers Pop Up Gift Card Box so that I could send them each a gift card.

It's so cool how it pops up when you open the card!

Mother's Day Card with Hero Arts - 2018

Here I used the layering Love stamp from the January 2018 Hero Arts My Monthly Hero kit to create a mother's day card for my grandmother.

First I cut a piece of white cardstock using the Gina Marie Designs Loopy Rectangles.  Then I stamped the first layer of the stamp with Catherine Pooler ink and heat embossed the second layer with some Ranger gold powder.

Mother's Day Card with Altenew - 2018

I made an eclipse style car for my mom for Mother's Day.

I used the "Hennah Elements" stamp set by Altenew and lots of masking to create my image.  Then I used "Large Alphabet Dies" by Kat Scrappiness to cut out the word "MOM".  I colored the letters with my Copics then cut the letters out of some black fun foam and put everything back together on my card base.

Shaker Birthday Card with Hero Arts - 2018

My first shaker card!

I absolutely adore the "Mermaid Kisses" stamp set by Hero Arts.  I colored a few of the images with my Copics.  For the water background, I followed this tutorial by Rachel Bergfeld.  I die cut the Hero Arts "Reef Border" and left it white to keep the focus on the mermaid and the background.  The sequins were a mixture of those from my stash.

Sympathy Card with WPlus9 - 2018

I love the "Christmas Rose Bouquet" stamp set by WPlus9!
I've seen so many folks use it for occasions other than Christmas.  Here I used it for a sympathy card:

I heat embossed it in silver on watercolor paper then painted the flowers.  I covered up the flowers with a mask then added some splatter.  Finally I die cut the "hugs" die from the March 2018 Hero Arts My Monthly Hero kit.

Magic Slider Birthday Card with Newton's Nook - 2018

Here is my second attempt at a Magic Slider card using the die set from Lawn Fawn.

Supplies used:
Stamps - "Newton Loves Cake" by Newton's Nook
Dies - Magic Slider by Lawn Fawn

Other - Copic Markers

Window Birthday Card with Hero Arts - 2018

Here is a fun window card that I made for my mom's birthday last year using the "Color Layering Seahorse" from Hero Arts.

The background was inspired by a couple that Kristina Werner showed on her YouTube channel using Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers.  The sea life images were stamped with a variety of Catherine Pooler and Altenew inks.  The final layer on the seahorse was heat embossed with gold embossing powder.

This is definitely one of my favorites that I've made so far!

Supplies used:
Stamps: "Lava You" by Avery Elle; "Paradise Palms" by Newton's Nook

Christmas Card with Newton's Nook - 2017

I only made one Christmas card in 2017.  It didn't turn out quite what I had in mind, but I was happy enough to send it out.

This is the "Whispering Pines" stamp set by Newton's Nook.  I don't remember what I ink I used to stamp the trees, but a spritz of water was involved.  The faint snow drifts were created with the MFT "Drifts & Hills" stencil and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.

Magic Slider Birthday Card with Paper Smooches - 2017

This was my first attempt at a Magic Slider card using the die set by Lawn Fawn.  It look me a few tries to get the stamping to a level I liked.

It had to be rainbow zebra!  LOL!
I colored her with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers.

The patterned paper is from "at the zoo" by doodlebug design

Birthday Card with My Favorite Things - 2017

I stamped the plumeria bunch from "Polynesian Paradise" repeatedly on a piece of white cardstock with some light colored ink and colored them with my Polychromos pencils.  The MFT die was cut from some black cardstock and glued to a strip of vellum.

Birthday Card with My Favorite Things - 2017

Here is a sweet birthday card I made for a friend a couple of years ago.  This is the card that really got me started with Copics.  I tried a couple of other coloring mediums on the bears and just wasn't happy.  Then I tried Copics and while the coloring isn't the best, I fell in love with those markers!

I blended some Distress Inks on my card base, then cut the "happy birthday" die by Simon Says three times from cardstock and stacked them to create some dimensions.  The Bitty Bears are adhered with foam dots.

Birthday Card with Stampin' Up

Aloha!

Here is a simple masculine Birthday card using another tree from "Lovely As A Tree" by Stampin' Up.

Using my Misti and a couple of Tombow markers, I stamped the tree on some Hero Arts Antique Ivory cardstock.  Then I added a bit more color and shading using a couple of Polychromos pencils.  I tried to add a bit more interest by putting in some score lines around the edges.  The sentiment is by Reverse Confetti.  Then I assembled everything on an A2 card base.

Thanks for stopping by!

Thank You Card with My Favorite Things - MFT Sketch Challenge

We had some friends come by and feed our critters while we were away.  It was the perfect opportunity to make them card with some new MFT goodies and enter the latest Sketch Challenge #441.

Here are the steps I used to create the card:

  • Die cut a couple of squares using the In & Out Stitched Squares by My Favorite Things
  • Use Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide and the Radiating Rays stencil by MFT on the larger square
  • Use Use Tumbled Glass, Cracked Pistachio and Lucky Clover Distress Oxide on the smaller square to create the scene
  • Stamp the images from "Purrfect Friends" by My Favorite Things using Hero Arts Intense Black on Gina K Artist Choice cardstock and die cut with matching dies
  • Color using Copics.  Cats: W8, W6, W4, C5, C3, C1, R20, 0.  Butterflies: RV17, YR68.  Cloud C3, C0.  Grass G46
  • Glue everthing on a white card base
  • Add details to the cats using black and white gelly roll pens
  • Stamp the sentiment from "Cool Cat" by My Favorite Things in black ink

Father's Day Card with Hero Arts

I started creating this card by first doing some watercolor backgrounds using some handmade watercolors from Aloha Studios that are based here on the Big Island of Hawaii.

It's hard to capture in the photos, but this watercolor has a subtle shimmer to it that is absolutely gorgeous!

Once the background was dry, I die cut it with a Hero Arts Nesting Rectangle.  Then I stamped the deer and tree from the "Color Layering Snowy Tree" stamp set by Hero arts.  I created the ground using my black Copic and the stars using a white gelly roll pen.  I didn't want to cover up any of the scene so I stamped the greeting on the inside.

Thanks for looking!
